An electric tabletop grill with two zones and a Turbo switch

We have not handled the Enders eURBAN PRO 2 Turbo, and we have not grilled anything on it. This text compares data: the product page, user manual (edition of 16.03.2026) and 2026 catalogue from Enders, all read on 14.10.2026, plus the catalogue data from Amazon (retrieved on 05.10.2026). Our own calculations and assessments are marked as such.

The eURBAN PRO 2 Turbo (article number 9719) is a tabletop grill. The catalogue lists it with a 22 cm working height and without outdoor wheels, and the Amazon title also calls it a tabletop grill. The product photo shows a compact body with a domed hood, a round thermometer and two rotary knobs on the front; two side shelves stick out left and right. The version with castors is a separate product, the eURBAN PRO 2 TURBO Trolley (971972). The words portable, compact, balcony grill and quick heating element come from the Amazon title; they do not appear on the Enders product page.

As an electric grill it runs on electricity instead of gas or charcoal, and according to the manual, charcoal or similar fuels must not be used in the unit. The manufacturer is Enders Colsman AG from Werdohl. The eURBAN series comprises four models: the eURBAN 2 and the eURBAN PRO 2 TURBO, each as a tabletop unit and as a trolley. Neither the product page nor the catalogue lists a colour, SHADOW or bundle variant of the Pro 2 Turbo.

On Amazon it cost approx. €215 on 14.10.2026. Enders gives a recommended retail price of €269.00 including VAT; what a retailer charges on your purchase date may differ. We conclude that Amazon number B0G2M2K4GC belongs to this model from the model number #9719 in the Amazon title, because the Enders product page does not link to an Amazon listing, only to a retailer search.

Design and technology

Under the grate there are three heating elements of 1.1 kW each, of which at most two run at the same time. This gives the total output of 2.2 kW at 230 V and 50 Hz. In normal operation one element works per half of the grate, and the third belongs to the Turbo Zone. The Amazon catalogue lists only 2 x 1.1 kW; as we read it, that describes normal operation.

According to the catalogue, the grilling area measures 48.5 x 31.5 cm, which is 1,528 cm². The product page says 48 x 31.5 cm, but only 48.5 cm gives the 1,528 cm² (48.5 x 31.5 = 1,527.75), so we work with the catalogue value. The grate is made of enamelled cast iron and, according to the catalogue, is in two parts; Enders names heat storage as the benefit. We have no measured values for this grate; the general explanation for cast iron grates applies: a lot of mass takes up a lot of heat and gives it to cool food without cooling down immediately.

The cooking hood is made of powder-coated cast aluminium and has a thermometer; the firebox and housing are also cast aluminium. The reflector tray is made of stainless steel, the grease drawer of alloy steel, and both can be removed without tools. The two side shelves are plastic, removable without tools and, according to the manual, not intended for direct contact with food; placing grill parts on them can scratch the surfaces.

Assembled, the grill measures W 95 x D 48 x H 35 cm, W 68 cm without side shelves. The working height is 22 cm and the weight 13 kg.

In detail: Turbo Zone, zones and thermometer

The grill is operated through four elements: two rotary knobs, one per half of the grate, an on/off switch and the TURBO ZONE switch. Each knob regulates one heating element continuously between the lowest and highest heat setting; the manual does not provide for a temperature presetting in degrees. Knobs and on/off switch light up white, the heating elements red during heating up and in active heating phases.

If you press TURBO ZONE, the switch and the right knob light up red, the lighting of the left knob goes out, and the left heating element switches off. Two elements then run in parallel under the right zone: one permanently at maximum output and not adjustable, the other you set continuously with the right knob. A second press ends the Turbo Zone, both knobs light up white again, and the left zone follows its knob again.

By calculation the total output stays at 2.2 kW, it just moves to the right: there, 2.2 kW instead of 1.1 kW is then available, and nothing on the left. If you want to sear many pieces at the same time, you only have the right half of the grate for it. Enders recommends the Turbo Zone for steaks, poultry pieces and fish: place the food on the right grate, sear both sides briefly and hard, and if needed finish cooking indirectly afterwards. With the Turbo Zone active, the left half is automatically the switched-off zone that the manual refers to for indirect cooking; that is how we read it.

With the hood closed, the hood thermometer shows three temperature ranges at the grate. No manufacturer figure says whether the Turbo Zone reaches the third range; it starts at SEARING above 270 °C, preceded by LOW AND SLOW from 0 to 120 °C and GRILLING from 120 to 270 °C.

You grill directly on a heated zone. For this Enders lists steaks, burgers and sausages, thin cuts of meat, vegetables and food that needs fast, intense heat. For indirect grilling you switch one zone off completely, set the other according to the food, place the food on the switched-off zone and close the hood; for this Enders names finishing steaks, large cuts of meat or roasts, whole poultry, fish as well as pizza and baked goods. How you distribute the zones is explained in our guide on direct and indirect heat.

You should always preheat for 20 minutes at full output, both zones on, hood closed, even if you continue grilling at medium or low heat afterwards. According to the manual, the heating-up time depends on air temperature and wind. The grill is designed for direct grilling; the closed hood only speeds that up. For larger pieces, according to the manual, it keeps the heat better in the cooking chamber and shortens the cooking time.

Is a normal socket enough?

An earthed protective-contact socket is enough as a connection, but the circuit must carry 2,200 W and run through an RCD with a tripping current of at most 30 mA. The manual rules out plug adapters, and an extension cable should remain the exception.

2,200 W divided by 230 V gives about 9.6 A (our conversion). How your circuit is fused only you know; in flats 16 A is common, that is our assumption, and little room is then left next to the grill. The manual also requires that you avoid other high-power appliances on the same circuit, which for us would be a kettle, for example.

The mains cable is 175 cm long and has a cross-section of 1.5 mm². If that does not reach the socket, Enders only allows a fully unrolled extension cable of at most 5 m in length, with a suitable cross-section and dry connectors suitable for outdoor use. The reason according to the manual: cables that are too thin or coiled heat up, the voltage drops, the grill delivers less power or switches off, and there is a risk of fire. Cables and adapters can also impair the effect of the RCD protection.

There is no manufacturer figure for consumption. As an upper limit: at most 2,200 W means at most 2.2 kWh per operating hour; multiplied by the price per kWh of your tariff, that gives the cost of one hour at full load.

Setup, safety and cleaning

The manual grades its notices as DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION and NOTICE and names serious injuries, explosions or fires as the consequence of improper use. What follows is an excerpt by topic, with the figures from the edition of 16.03.2026; the manual itself is binding. It also states that Enders accepts no liability for damage caused by incorrect handling and that the warranty lapses if the grill is not used as intended.

The manual counts the following as intended use: grilling and baking outdoors in the private sphere; connecting only to properly earthed sockets; keeping the socket, power cable and, where applicable, extension cable dry; using it only for preparing food; use by children aged 8 and over and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and knowledge only if they are supervised or have been instructed in safe use and understand the associated hazards; children must not play with the unit; cleaning and maintenance by children not without supervision; not to be used as a fire pit; not to be mounted or operated in or on motorhomes or boats.

  • Clearance: keep away from flammable materials during operation; the distance to flammable and heat-sensitive materials must not be less than 1 m, and nothing may be within 1 m of height above the grill (each DANGER). To pools, ponds and other water containers it is at least 3 m (WARNING).
  • Location: outdoors only. Not in garages, buildings, covered passageways, tents, other enclosed areas or under flammable structures, and not in a vehicle, boot or load bed, in particular, but not exclusively, in cars, lorries, estate cars, minivans, SUVs, recreational vehicles and boats. It must not be built into an integrated or slide-in structure.
  • Ground and wind: a nearly level, stable surface (CAUTION), not on an edge or a slope (NOTICE). Set up sheltered from the wind, the grill according to the manual reaches higher temperatures and more even heat distribution. The openings at the back of the hood stay clear, because otherwise the electronics could overheat.
  • Operation: never leave it unattended while preheating and grilling, because the entire firebox gets very hot, and do not move it during operation. Wear grill gloves with contact heat resistance level 2 or higher under DIN EN 407 (the standard that applies in Germany and the EU), open and close the hood with a firm grip; hot air can escape when opening, and you do not lean over the grilling surface.
  • Electricity: check the cable for damage before every use; a damaged cable is replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person. The grill is only plugged in while in use and is disconnected from the mains straight afterwards. The cable never lies across traffic or walking areas and never against hot parts, and you pull on the plug.
  • Moisture: keep away from moisture, splashing water and rain (DANGER) and, especially with electronic parts, do not immerse in water or other liquids.

On the question of who may operate it, two passages do not quite agree: page 3 allows children aged 8 and over to use it under supervision, page 6 says children must not operate the grill. Our assessment: we would not let children near a hot grill.

On the balcony, the manual names a terrace or balcony as a possible place of installation, but contains nothing on tenancy law or house rules. The clearance rules apply there as everywhere: if your balcony has a roof, an awning or a balcony above it, the first thing that decides is whether 1 m stays free above the grill and whether it therefore stands under a flammable structure. What your landlord and house rules say, you have to clarify yourself; the guide on grilling on a balcony puts the legal situation in context.

Fats and oils can ignite spontaneously when heated strongly, and with insufficient cleaning, accumulated fat catches fire. You therefore dab off excess fat or marinade before grilling. Burning, hot or smoking fat or oil is never extinguished with water. In the event of a grease fire, you switch off all heating elements immediately, keep the hood closed and pull the mains plug until the fire has gone out. More on prevention is in the guide on preventing grease fires.

After every grilling session you burn off the grate for about five minutes at the highest setting and brush it while it is still hot. After it has cooled down, you rub it with rapeseed oil or another oil that can be heated to a high temperature; according to the manual, this protects against corrosion and builds up a patina. Then you empty and clean the grease drawer and grease tray; the manual uses both words and does not explain whether they are two parts. According to Enders, burning off is not pyrolysis but only burns off the surface of the grate. A thorough clean is due at least twice a year, quarterly for frequent grillers. You check the grill brush for loose bristles and replace it if any are loose.

Before the thorough clean, the grill must be switched off, disconnected from the power and completely cooled down; individual parts can have sharp edges, and the manual advises safety gloves. The stainless steel inner parts of the firebox are dishwasher safe, you clean the grease drawer with mild washing-up liquid, and the inside of the hood with a sponge, warm water and washing-up liquid. Exterior stainless steel gets a pollutant-free, non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner or a grill polish and a microfibre cloth, wiped in the direction of the grain; enamel and powder-coated surfaces get warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Unsuitable are abrasive stainless steel polishes, acidic or flammable cleaning agents, oven cleaner as well as abrasive or chlorine-containing cleaning agents. Controls and heating elements are never cleaned in water, the grill is never hosed down with a strong jet of water, and everything must dry completely before the next use. Stainless steel can discolour in heat; according to Enders this is typical of the material and not a defect.

Accessories, trolley and warranty

On the product page of the 9719, Enders lists as matching accessories (RRP, retrieved 14.10.2026) a trolley for the Urban II series at €99.90, a cast plate for the eURBAN series at €34.95, a pizza stone for the eURBAN series at €34.95 and a premium weather cover at €19.99. The catalogue gives the article numbers 2085 (cast plate), 2086 (pizza stone), 2072 (trolley) and 5681 (cover), each for eURBAN 2 and eURBAN PRO 2 TURBO. Because the cover is named differently on the website and in the catalogue, you should check number 5681 before buying.

The trolley can be calculated: tabletop grill and retrofitted trolley come to €368.90 by RRP, while the finished eURBAN PRO 2 TURBO Trolley model costs €349 RRP, so €19.90 less. Retrofitting is therefore only worthwhile if you already have the tabletop grill.

The Enders warranty is voluntary, applies to grills with the warranty symbol, to the first buyer from the date of purchase, only in Europe and only for privately used products; it supplements the statutory warranty rights. The periods according to the manual: cooking hood unit and firebox unit 10 years each against rusting through or burning through; heating elements, enamelled cast iron grates and plastic elements 3 years each against rusting through or burning through; Simple Clean and grease drawer 5 years each against rusting through and burning through; all other parts such as screws and thermometer 2 years. The manual additionally lists a warming rack with 3 years, which the product details for the 9719 do not mention. The Enders warranty terms (page 5, overview of durations) make the extended term dependent on you registering the grill on the Enders website within three months of purchase.

What Enders does not state

These details are missing on the product page, in the manual and in the catalogue, as far as we have evaluated them:

  • Maximum temperature in °C on the grate
  • Heating-up time to a target temperature (only the 20 minutes of preheating are recommended)
  • Power consumption in kWh, circuit fuse rating in amperes and suitability for balcony sockets
  • Number of people or portion quantity for the grilling area
  • Scope of delivery as a text list (the assembly instructions show pictures and part numbers)
  • Base material and thickness of the cast iron grate (Enders writes: enamelled cast iron grate)
  • Cooking times or temperatures for steaks, and a comparison of Turbo Zone and normal zone
  • Carrying handle, transport aids and packed dimensions
  • Country of manufacture (company headquarters and development in Werdohl are named) and availability period of spare parts, although there is a spare parts shop

There are also contradictions between the sources. Amazon lists 38 cm height and, converted, 12.0 kg (26.46 pounds) instead of the 35 cm and 13 kg from Enders; we follow Enders. For the grease drawer, the manual says 5 years and the warranty terms 3 years, and in the catalogue a seal with 5 years appears next to the grill, whose assignment cannot be clarified from the picture. A delivered unit may also come with an older edition of the manual (06.10.2025); according to our sources, it has the same figures on clearances, RCD, cable and technical data, but more detailed notes on children.

The prices are guide values from the price boxes of our reviews and were not collected on the same day; the rating is our editorial assessment from manufacturer data, not a measured result. More devices in this class are shown in the comparison of the best electric grills 2026.

When this grill, when another?

The first decision comes with the electricity. If you have no earthed socket with an RCD of up to 30 mA outdoors within reach of the 175 cm cable, this grill is the wrong choice; however, every electric grill in the table needs a socket. The eFLAVOUR with 3 kW draws about 13 A at 230 V, the Landmann with 3,200 W about 13.9 A, against the roughly 9.6 A above (each our conversion); if you have a tightly fused circuit, you will manage better with the smaller connected load.

The area is the second point. The manual advises leaving part of the grilling area free and keeping space between the pieces so that you can work with tongs. Our assessment: for larger groups that gets tight at 48.5 x 31.5 cm, especially as with the Turbo Zone only the right half heats fully. The eFLAVOUR has a good quarter more area (1,950 against 1,528 cm²) and costs around €110 more. The eCRAVE 2 is €49 above the eURBAN PRO 2 Turbo in our price boxes, although Enders lists both at €269 RRP; it has more grate and a trolley, but no Turbo Zone.

If you want to set degrees or use a timer, the Landmann is right for you: according to the instructions, it sets 100 to 300 °C in 50 °C steps per heating element, and the timer runs up to 990 minutes. With the eURBAN PRO 2 Turbo you are left with continuously variable knobs and a thermometer with three ranges.

The budget decides on the Turbo Zone: without it, the eURBAN 2 saves €70 by Enders RRP (€199 instead of €269), and what else it lacks is in the FAQ. Standing height costs, depending on the route, €80 to just under €100 RRP extra, see accessories.

The eURBAN PRO 2 Turbo is wrong for anyone who wants to leave it permanently unprotected outdoors, because Enders requires weather-protected storage, and for anyone who needs two equally hot zones: with the Turbo Zone the left side is off, without it each half heats at 1.1 kW. Whether electric, gas or charcoal suits your space is clarified by the Grill Finder.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Enders eURBAN PRO 2 Turbo

Short, clear answers about buying, using and caring for Enders eURBAN PRO 2 Turbo.

Do I need a table or a trolley for the eURBAN PRO 2 Turbo?

Yes, you need a base: the tabletop unit belongs on a nearly level, stable surface and not on an edge. If you want standing height, take the eURBAN PRO 2 TURBO Trolley (971972) with outdoor wheels, 87 cm working height, W 95 x D 60 x H 98 cm and 21 kg, or retrofit the trolley. According to Enders, the performance data are identical to the 9719.

What do I need to do before the first grilling session?

Let all heating elements run at the highest setting for 20 minutes without food, which according to the manual removes production residues. Some smell is normal, and the colour of the hood and firebox may change slightly; Enders calls this a natural process and not grounds for a complaint. Beforehand, both knobs are set to Off, and neither the on/off switch nor the Turbo switch is pressed in.

What do I do if the grill will not switch on?

The manual lists four things to check: the mains plug, the RCD, the circuit breaker and the control panel. If the RCD trips again, there may be a fault in the house wiring, the socket or the grill; if the circuit breaker trips, the circuit may be overloaded. The panel must be clicked into place, and a clip fastener under the panel holds it.

May I use grill mats or aluminium foil?

Never grill mats, writes Enders, and the grilling surface must not be covered completely, otherwise there is a risk of overheating. You do not line the grease tray or the firebox with aluminium foil, and you do not remove them during grilling. Cast plate and pizza stone, as closed surfaces, are only allowed in the Enders version approved for the model, and only following the enclosed instructions.

What do I use to remove limescale marks if acidic cleaners are off limits?

The manual contradicts itself slightly: on page 16 acidic cleaning agents are listed among the unsuitable ones, while on page 21 a mild water and citric acid mixture is given for white or matt limescale marks. Enders requires a spot test on an inconspicuous area, printed surfaces to be left out, clear water for rinsing and a soft cloth. Our assessment: if in doubt, ask Enders service.

Can the grill stay outdoors permanently?

Only when protected: Enders requires weather-protected storage so that no short circuit occurs, and a dry, frost-free place for grilling breaks; the manual also recommends a weather cover. The IPX4 protection rating means splashing water from all sides, and IP44 applies to the mains plug. The cover only goes on the grill once it is switched off, disconnected from the mains and completely cooled down.

What does the warranty not cover, and how does a warranty claim work?

Excluded are normal wear such as rust formation, fading of colour, scratches or dents without impairment of function; damage from improper use, improper assembly, misuse or neglect of preventive maintenance; damage from extreme weather conditions, salty air, chlorine sources, acid rain or other environmental influences; damage from non-original parts or unauthorised repairs and modifications. In a warranty case you need proof of purchase, photos of the defect and the serial number; Enders repairs or replaces, up to the original purchase price at most.

What does the cheaper eURBAN 2 lack compared with the PRO 2 Turbo?

According to Enders, the eURBAN 2 (9718) has no Turbo Zone, only 2 x 1.1 kW, and its cooking hood is made of powder-coated steel instead of cast aluminium. It weighs 12.5 instead of 13 kg and, at H 32.5 cm, is 2.5 cm lower. For the cooking hood and firebox, 5 instead of 10 years apply, with registration. Grilling area, grate, Simple Clean and side shelves are the same.
