Two model numbers, one grill
The Voltris is Landmann’s electric grill in trolley form: two electric heating elements under one lid, a side table on the left and right, and a cabinet with two doors below. In our electric grills category it has the highest rating we give there, at 9.4 points. As a guide price we list it at approx. €550. The rating is our editorial assessment, not a measurement result; we have never handled the grill ourselves.
If you click the Amazon offer in our price box, you land on the black twin of the EG-II-590. Amazon lists ASIN B0BWK6ZPDN as “LANDMANN Elektro-Grillwagen EG-II-591” in black, and that is exactly the trolley our product image shows. The EG-II-590 is the stainless steel version. In the manufacturer’s shop maxx-world.de both are called Voltris electric grill trolley, and the shared manual lists their technical data in one table. We therefore write about the Voltris and add the model number only where the two differ.
Landmann was founded in 1966 in Osterholz-Scharmbeck. According to its own chronicle, the brand launched its first electric grill, the E-Pantera, in 2019. The shop names DS Produkte GmbH from Stapelfeld as the manufacturer of the Voltris; according to the manual, it is made in China.
Heating elements, grates, control panel
According to the manual, the Voltris draws at most 3,200 W, at 220 to 240 V and 50 or 60 Hz. It is protection class I, so its housing is connected to the earth conductor of the socket. The protection rating is IPX4.
You grill on 59 × 40.5 cm, spread over two enamelled cast iron grates. Below them are two heating elements that you control independently and can pull out for cleaning. A warming rack is included in the delivery.
It is operated via a panel at the front under the lid, which Landmann describes in the shop as a touch display. Each heating element has an on/off button, a temperature button and its own temperature display there. In addition there are a timer button with a display, two sockets for the supplied meat thermometers together with a display for their readings, and a power indicator light. It lights up as soon as the plug is in the socket. The grill only starts heating once you have set a cooking temperature, though.
There is a thermometer in the lid for the temperature in the grill chamber. Under the grill unit is a base cabinet with two doors and one shelf. You fold the side tables up until they lock into the hinges at a 90-degree angle, and to fold them down you lift them slightly. All four castors can be locked using wing nuts. The grease tray runs on rails under the grill unit and is slid in from the back; to pull it out, you lift it slightly by the handle so that it comes free of the catch.
One warning from the safety chapter belongs here, because the trolley looks like a gas grill with a base cabinet: charcoal or similar fuels must not be used with this appliance.
In detail: two zones, five settings
You set each heating element between 100 and 300 °C, in steps of 50 °C. That gives five values per side, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 °C, and Landmann explicitly relates them to the grate. According to the manual, the two elements are there so that you can prepare different foods with different cooking temperatures and cooking times at the same time.
For indirect grilling you switch on only one and place the food over the switched-off one, following the principle explained in our guide on direct and indirect heat. In our view, the lid thermometer is then what counts. The number on the display applies to the side with nothing on it, whereas the thermometer in the lid applies to the grill chamber in which the meat cooks.
The manual recommends grilling with the lid closed anyway. With the lid down there are fewer flare-ups, and the food cooks faster and more evenly.
The warming rack has two jobs. You keep finished food warm there while you carry on grilling, though it continues to cook. Or you gently cook vegetables and seafood on it while meat sits on the grate over strong heat.
After switching on, the timer is set to 990 minutes and counts down, which is 16.5 hours. With the timer button you set the cooking duration in 10-minute steps, after which the grill switches itself off, and Landmann explicitly names pulled pork as a use case. If you hold the button for about three seconds, the timer jumps to 0. An external timer switch or a separate remote switching system is not intended for operation. In our reading, a smart plug controlled by app falls under this, so switching off remains the job of the built-in timer. The timer does not replace supervision: according to the manual, you never leave the appliance unattended while it is hot, and you disconnect it from the mains as soon as no one is watching.
Pulled pork is exactly where you see how coarse the steps are. Values in between, such as 120 °C, cannot be set; you have 100 or 150 °C. We would therefore control long cooking times on the Voltris by the lid thermometer and core temperature, using the target values from our core temperature chart. For hot searing, on the other hand, the steps hardly matter, since you use 300 °C for that anyway.
The core temperature of the two meat thermometers appears on the control panel, not in the lid. After switching off, a fan keeps running and cools the grill down, so you wait about 5 to 10 minutes before pulling the mains plug.
Is a normal socket enough for 3,200 watts?
Yes, if the socket and circuit match the requirements in the manual. The socket needs an earth conductor and must be suitable for 3,200 W, the circuit is protected by an RCD with a rated residual current of 30 mA at most, and no other high-power appliance runs on it while you grill.
A rough calculation shows why the last point matters. At 230 V and full load, almost 14 A flow, because 3,200 divided by 230 gives 13.9. Socket circuits in homes in Germany are usually protected with 16 A. That leaves a good 2 A for everything else on this circuit, so just under 500 W. Even a kettle in a socket on the same circuit can trip the fuse. The troubleshooting table in the manual describes exactly this case and advises reducing the number of appliances on the circuit.
According to the manufacturer’s shop, the mains cable is 1.7 m long. You may extend it only with a cable suitable for this power, and according to the manual you do not use a cable reel at all. Before plugging in, you unwind the power cable completely. The socket must then remain easily accessible so that you can quickly disconnect the grill from the mains, and the cable must not be a trip hazard.
If a fault occurs during operation, you pull the mains plug. Otherwise a fixed order applies: first switch off at the appliance, then pull the plug, and do so by the plug itself, never by the cable.
What else is worth considering?
| Model | The difference | Price | Our rating | Choose this one if |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Landmann Voltris EG-II-590 / EG-II-591 (this one) | two heating elements via button panel, 100 to 300 °C in 50 °C steps, switch-off timer | approx. €550 | 9.4 | you want the largest grilling surface of the four |
| Weber Pulse 2000 | 2,200 W, thermometer with iGrill app, 2 probes included, 4 connections | approx. €578 | 9.2 | you want to follow core temperatures on your smartphone |
| Enders eFLOW PRO 2 TURBO | infinitely variable controls, TURBO ZONE at the push of a button | approx. €383 | 8.9 | you prefer to adjust continuously and want to add an extra zone for searing |
| Enders eCRAVE 2 | 2 × 1.3 kW, grate 51 × 33.5 cm, also with a base cabinet | approx. €249 | 8.4 | you are looking for a grill trolley with a cabinet and your budget is tight |
The price column shows guide values from our data sheets for all four grills, and these change. We checked the technical details for Weber and Enders on their manufacturer sites. None of us measured anything on any of the four grills; the ratings are based on comparing the data.
When the Voltris fits and when another grill does
According to the manual, the trolley measures 121.5 × 57.5 × 116 cm (width × depth × height). While it is running or still hot, there must be no flammable or heat-sensitive materials within 60 cm. If you add the 60 cm on every side, you need a zone of about 2.4 × 1.8 m with no wooden cladding or plastic privacy screen. You must not use it under a flammable roof at all, and we count a fabric awning as one. The ground must be stable, level and even.
On a large balcony this can work out, on a narrow one hardly. Our guide on grilling on a balcony summarises what the legal position is there; whether your tenancy agreement and house rules allow electric grills is something you clarify beforehand.
Landmann designs the grilling surface for up to six people. For comparison, according to the manufacturers: Weber gives 49 × 39 cm for the Pulse 2000, Enders gives 50 × 39 cm for the eFLOW PRO 2 TURBO and 51 × 33.5 cm for the eCRAVE 2. The Voltris surface is therefore 8 to 10 cm wider and 1.5 to 7 cm deeper than that of the other three. If you usually grill for two to four people, we consider this advantage dispensable.
If the circuit at your grilling spot is already in use or you do not know how it is fused, that speaks against the Voltris. According to Weber, the Weber Pulse 2000 draws 2,200 W, calculated at just under 10 A, so that a good 6 A of reserve remains on a 16 A circuit. According to Weber, its thermometer works with the iGrill app, two probes are included and four can be connected.
Enders describes the controls of the eFLOW PRO 2 TURBO as infinitely adjustable and LED-lit. According to Enders it has three heating elements of 1.5 kW each, of which at most two run at the same time, and a TURBO ZONE that delivers extra-high temperatures for searing at the push of a button.
If you are mainly looking for a grill trolley with a base cabinet and fold-down side shelves, the Enders eCRAVE 2 is worth a look. In our data sheet it is listed at approx. €249, around €300 less than the approx. €550 we assume for the Voltris. According to Enders, it is heated there with two elements of 1.3 kW each.
Cleaning, care and safety according to the manual
The cleaning chapter begins with five notes. To avoid a grease fire, the grill must be cleaned regularly. Corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents and brushes with metal bristles are ruled out because they can damage the surfaces. The accessories are not dishwasher safe. The heating elements may be cleaned only with a cloth, neither with liquids nor by immersion. You should store the grill indoors where possible at no more than 40 °C; if that is not possible, Landmann recommends a weather cover.
After every grilling session you burn off the heating elements, grill grates and warming rack by letting the grill heat at maximum power for a few minutes. Once everything has cooled, you wipe the heating elements and grates with a cloth. If needed, you may clean the grill grates and warming rack with warm water, washing-up liquid and a rust-free scouring pad. So the scouring pad is expressly allowed, while the wire brush stays in the cupboard. You empty the grease tray and rinse it with warm water and washing-up liquid, and everything goes back in only when it is dry.
You tackle the interior when needed. To do so, you carefully pull out the heating elements and remove food residue and grease build-up in the grill chamber, most easily with a plastic scraper. You wipe the chamber surfaces clean with a soft cloth. You may wash heavier soiling there with warm soapy water and dry it with a non-abrasive cloth before the heating elements go back in.
Outside, the method depends on the material. Stainless steel gets a non-toxic, non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner or a polish for outdoor products and grills, applied with a soft cloth. You clean painted and porcelain-enamelled surfaces and plastic parts only with warm soapy water and kitchen paper or a soft cloth, rinse and wipe dry. According to Landmann, if you let care slide, you must expect performance to drop; the manual names low temperatures, uneven heat and food sticking to the grate as signs.
Before every use you check the grease tray and the area under the heating elements for grease deposits and remove excess grease. While grilling, the grates and grease tray must always be in place. Food must not touch the heating element because it could ignite, and it never goes on the grill wrapped in cling film or plastic bags. Containers filled with oil do not belong in the appliance.
For accessories that are common on other grills, the manual draws a line. To avoid overheating, the appliance must not be covered with solid or flexible materials such as aluminium trays, aluminium foil or trays made of other heat-resistant materials, and such objects on the grilling surface could impair safety and lead to serious damage. Aluminium grill trays are therefore out. Going by this wording, we would likewise not put a cast iron pot on the grate.
Our guide on preventing grease fires explains how grease fires start and how you prevent them. For the Voltris, according to the manual: you do not put out flare-ups with water, but switch the appliance off, pull the mains plug and let it cool down. In case of fire, you smother the flames with a fire blanket or a suitable fire extinguisher.
While the grill is running or has just been switched off, you touch only handles and controls, wearing grill gloves to DIN EN 407 (heat protection category II; this standard applies in Germany and the EU). It must not be moved during operation, and hot steam can escape when you open the lid.
What Landmann does not state
The source situation is thin. Since the relaunch, the brand site landmann.de no longer carries product pages. The manufacturer’s shop maxx-world.de, which is run by the same DS e-Sales GmbH, listed both Voltris pages as unavailable on 24 September 2026; both link the same assembly and operating manual in version V3 from September 2024. Our text rests on this manual, the two shop pages and Amazon’s catalogue. The following remain open:
- how the 3,200 W is split between the two heating elements
- a heat-up time in minutes and a consumption figure in kWh
- the material of the heating elements and of the warming rack, as well as the dimensions of the warming rack
- the dimensions with the side tables folded down and the load capacity of the side tables
- measuring range, accuracy and cable length of the meat thermometers
- a matching cover with a model designation
- a commitment on spare parts specifically for the Voltris
- warranty terms: the manual has no warranty section, and the back page, to which it refers for the service details, is missing from the PDF version
- the assembly time and the market launch
Where the sources contradict each other, we follow the manual. The shop lists the dimensions as 117 cm width, 52 cm length and 122 cm height, Amazon’s catalogue, converted, about 127 × 57 × 121 cm. For the mains supply, the shop says 60 Hz, the manual 50/60 Hz. In the safety chapter the model number EB1001-GS appears, while the technical data give EB1002-GS and EB1003-GS.
The shop’s list of contents for the black version includes side burners, flame controls and burner covers, that is, parts of a gas grill. For us, the parts list in the manual therefore applies.
Who is it suited to?
The manual summarises intended use in five points. The grill is designed for preparing foods suitable for grilling and is intended for outdoor use. Any other or further use is not permitted; as foreseeable misuse, Landmann lists use as a built-in appliance, operation in motorhomes, caravans or on boats, and use as a heater. The appliance is intended for private use, not commercial use.
You may use it only for the stated purpose and as the manual describes, any further use counts as improper; incorrect operation and improper handling can lead to malfunctions of the appliance and to injuries. As the fifth point, the manual names the exclusion of warranty: according to the manual, all defects arising from improper handling, damage or repair attempts are excluded, as are normal wear and grease deposits and discolouration on the appliance and accessories.
For households with children, the rules come right at the start of the safety instructions. Children aged 8 and over, as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge, may use the appliance if they are supervised or instructed in safe use and understand the resulting hazards. Children must not play with it. Children carry out cleaning and user maintenance only if they are older than 8 and supervised. You keep younger children and animals away from the appliance and the power cable, and you make sure children have no unsupervised access to the grill.
From these points it follows who the Voltris is the wrong choice for: anyone who wants to grill in a motorhome, caravan or on a boat, for an outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, and for use at markets or in catering.
