A grill cart with a plug instead of a gas bottle
We have not handled the Enders eFLAVOUR 2 Turbo, and we have not grilled anything on it. This text compares data: Enders’ product page and user manual (edition 02/2026), both read on 12 October 2026, plus the Amazon catalogue (retrieved on 5 October 2026) and the data sheets of our reviews. Where we draw on the older 01/2024 edition of the manual (a mirror at the retailer Hornbach), 01/2024 is stated. Our own calculations and assessments are marked as such.
The eFLAVOUR is an electric grill on a frame with wheels. On top sits the grilling surface under the hood, at the front the control panel with two knobs, on the left and right a folding side shelf each, and below a base cabinet with a storage shelf, which is concealed by a removable serving tray instead of a door. The manufacturer is Enders Colsman AG from Werdohl. The manual rules out gas, charcoal, briquettes and lava stones; the grill draws up to 3,000 W from the socket and is intended for grilling and baking outdoors in private use.
At Amazon it cost approx. €310 on 14 October 2026; the recommended retail price on the Enders product page is €369.00 including VAT; what a retailer charges on the day you buy may differ. We infer that the Amazon number B0D25C6DFP belongs to this model from the article number 97156 in the Amazon title, because Enders does not link an Amazon listing on the product page, only a retailer search. Enders lists only this one eFLAVOUR version, with no SHADOW or colour variant.
Construction and technology
Under the grate are three heating elements of 1.5 kW each, of which at most two run at the same time; this gives the total output of 3 kW at 220 to 240 V and 50 Hz. The grilling surface measures 50 x 39 cm, which is 1,950 cm². In running text Enders rounds this to almost 2,000 cm², the catalogue to just under 2,000; we calculate with 1,950.
Enders calls the grate SWITCH GRID: enamelled cast iron, split in two according to the catalogue. As advantages of cast iron, the 01/2024 manual cites even heat distribution and very good heat storage. In addition there is a stainless steel warming rack, 45.5 x 16.5 cm (751 cm²) according to the catalogue, which Enders describes as swinging. The cooking hood is double-walled and, like the combustion chamber, control panel and side shelves, is made of powder-coated steel; the individual parts in the combustion chamber (SIMPLE CLEAN) are stainless steel, and the serving tray is plastic. According to the manual, the side shelves are not intended for direct contact with food.
It is operated through exactly four elements: two knobs that each regulate one heating element continuously, an on/off switch and the TURBO ZONE switch. The manual does not list a temperature preselection or a timer. According to the catalogue, the knobs and main switch are LED-illuminated. The working height is 89.5 cm. Assembled, the grill with side shelves measures W 108 x D 57 x H 108.5 cm, W 75.5 cm with the shelves folded down, and it weighs 31.5 kg. The Amazon catalogue confirms the dimensions but gives them as height x length x width (108.5 x 57.0 x 108.0 cm), which in our order is W 108.0 x D 57.0 x H 108.5 cm. The castors have locking brakes; the 01/2024 parts list counts four wheels.
Assembly is described in a separate assembly booklet, which we could not find online. The 01/2024 manual lists a Phillips screwdriver and a 17 mm open-ended spanner as tools; during assembly you wear safety gloves and get a second person at the marked points.
In detail: Turbo Zone, two zones and the hood
In normal operation, one element of 1,500 W works per half of the grate, and each side has its own knob. You set the heat output continuously between the lowest and highest setting.
If you press TURBO ZONE, the switch and right knob light up red, the illumination of the left knob goes out, and the left heating element switches off automatically. On the right, two elements running in parallel then work: one permanently at maximum output and not adjustable, the other you set continuously with the right knob. A second press of TURBO ZONE ends this, after which the left side heats again according to its knob.
Our calculation on this: the total output stays at 3 kW, it just moves. On the right, up to 3 kW is available instead of 1.5 kW, on the left nothing. Enders recommends placing the food on the right grate, searing both sides of the food briefly and hard, and then, if needed, finishing it by indirect cooking. If you want to sear many pieces at once, you only have the right side of the grate for that.
With the cooking hood closed, the thermometer in the hood shows three ranges at the grate: Low and Slow from 0 to 120 °C, Grilling from 120 to 270 °C and Searing above 270 °C.
Double-walled means two wall layers; what lies between them and what that does for heat retention is not quantified by Enders. In general, a closed hood keeps the heat in the grilling space; the manual says the same in its FAQ section and adds that cooking time is shortened. The openings at the back of the hood must not be blocked: according to the manual, they prevent heat build-up so that the electronics do not overheat, and promote airflow and the extraction of steam and smoke.
Direct grilling takes place in the heated zone. Enders recommends this for steaks, burgers, sausages, thin cuts of meat and vegetables and describes the grill as designed for it; the hood does not have to be closed, with the hood closed it is merely quicker. For indirect grilling, you switch one zone off completely, regulate the other depending on the food, place the food on the grate of the switched-off zone and close the hood. For this, Enders names steaks to finish cooking, large cuts, poultry, fish, pizza and baked goods. How you arrange the zones is explained in our guide to direct and indirect heat. Our conclusion: with indirect cooking, only one of the two grate halves is available to the food, and with the Turbo Zone switched on the left side is off anyway.
According to Enders, you should always preheat for 20 minutes at full output, both zones on, hood closed. According to the manual, the heating-up time depends on air temperature and wind.
Is a normal socket enough?
An earthed socket is enough as a connection, but the circuit has to carry the grill’s 3,000 W, and Enders requires a residual current device (RCD, in German “FI”) with at most 30 mA.
We calculate: 3,000 W divided by 230 V gives about 13 A; at the 220 to 240 V from the manual, it is 12.5 to 13.6 A. A 16 A circuit, as is common in homes (our assumption; only you know the fuse rating of your circuit), leaves little room beside it. The manual also requires you to avoid other high-power appliances on the same circuit (our example: a kettle). The power source must be properly protected; if in doubt, you consult a qualified electrician. The mains cable is 210 cm long with a 1.5 mm² cross-section, and the mains plug and connections must be suitable for outdoor use and dry.
On consumption in kilowatt hours, on power draw at medium settings and on the required fuse rating in amperes, Enders gives no figures. As an upper limit we calculate: if the grill runs for an hour at full output, that is 3 kWh; multiplied by the price per kWh of your tariff, that gives the electricity cost of one hour at full load. Gas, charcoal or briquettes are not needed.
Accessories and warranty
On the product page (read on 12 October 2026), Enders lists for the eFLAVOUR the Premium weather cover for eFLOW Pro 2 and eFLAVOUR 2 at €39.95, plus SWITCH GRID inserts: pizza stone €44.95, Sear Grate €39.95, pan €49.95, poultry roaster €39.95 and Dutch oven €89.90. A stainless steel grill skewer costs €69.90. According to the manual, you request spare parts by email at service@enders-germany.com; the spare parts list is in the assembly booklet.
Enders tiers the warranty by component. According to the manual and the warranty terms, 5 years apply to the cooking hood, combustion chamber and the SIMPLE CLEAN system, 3 years to heating elements, enamelled cast-iron grates, warming rack, grease drawer and plastic parts, and 2 years to all other parts such as screws and thermometer. For the cooking hood, combustion chamber, heating elements, cast-iron grates, warming rack and grease drawer, the warranty table expressly states the period applies to rust-through or burn-through respectively. For the extended term, you must register the grill at enders-germany.com within three months of purchase. The commitment is voluntary, applies to grills with the warranty symbol, to first buyers from the date of purchase, only in Europe and only for products used privately, and it does not restrict statutory warranty rights. In a warranty case, you contact Enders customer service, with the original proof of purchase, photos of the defect and the serial number.
Cleaning, care and safety
The manual arranges its notes by DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION and ATTENTION and names serious injuries, explosions or fires as the consequences of improper use. Here the notes on siting, power, operation, grease and cleaning are sorted by topic, with the figures from the 02/2026 edition; the manual itself remains authoritative. Enders accepts no liability for damage caused by incorrect handling, and according to the manual the warranty lapses if the grill is not used as intended. We do not assess the legal effect of this wording.
- Siting: In operation at least 1 m clearance from flammable and heat-sensitive materials (01/2024: 0.5 m). Nothing may be above the grill below a height of 1 m (01/2024: 2 m); because of the two versions, we would keep to the 2 m. At least 3 m from pools, ponds and other bodies of water. Outdoors only, not in garages, buildings, covered passageways, tents, other enclosed areas or under combustible structures; not in a vehicle, in a boot or on a loading area (car, lorry, estate, minivan, SUV, recreational vehicles, boats). According to the manual, you set it up sheltered from the wind, because it then reaches higher temperatures and more even heat distribution.
- Ground: A nearly level, stable surface, castor brakes engaged, not at an edge or on a slope. The grill is not moved during operation; before moving it, you fold down the side shelves according to the 01/2024 manual.
- Moisture: Keep the grill away from moisture, splashing water and rain, store it protected from the weather, and do not immerse the grill, especially its electronics, in water or other liquids.
- Power: Check the cable for damage before every use. The grill is only plugged in while in use and is disconnected from the mains immediately afterwards. Do not operate if the socket is damaged; earthed sockets only, no plug adapters; pull on the plug, not the cable. Keep the cable away from heated surfaces and from traffic and walking areas. Repairs to electronic and sealed parts are carried out only by authorised specialist staff, and the grill must not be modified.
- Operation: Never leave it unattended during preheating and grilling, because the whole combustion chamber becomes very hot. When grilling, wear heat-resistant grill gloves with contact heat resistance level 2 or higher according to DIN EN 407 (a standard that applies in Germany and the EU). Open and close the hood by the firm handle so that it does not fall and trap fingers; hot air can escape when opening, and you do not lean over the grilling surface. Control surfaces can get hot, do not look directly into the LED lighting, and only operate with the control knobs fitted.
- Children and supervision (page 3 of the manual): Children from 0 up to and including 3 years may not connect, position, adjust, use, clean or maintain the grill. Children from 3 to under 8 years and very vulnerable people with very severe and complex disabilities may only adjust or use it under constant supervision; children from 8 up to and including 14 years and people with limited abilities or lack of experience only supervised or instructed and if they understand the hazards. Connecting, positioning, cleaning and maintenance are not permitted for the last two groups. Page 6 adds: people with mental impairments and/or who are not legally responsible, and children, may not operate the grill, and it may only be used by people who are able to operate it safely. Our assessment: the two passages do not quite fit together, and we would not let children near the hot grill.
Fats and oils can ignite spontaneously when heated strongly, and with insufficient cleaning, accumulated fat catches fire. You dab off excess fat or marinade before grilling. You never extinguish burning, hot or smoking fat or oil with water. In a grease fire, you switch off all heating elements immediately, keep the hood closed and pull the mains plug until the fire has gone out. More on prevention is in our guide to avoiding grease fires.
After every grilling session, you burn off the grate for about five minutes on the highest setting, brush it while it is hot, rub it with rapeseed oil or another oil that can be heated to high temperatures after it has cooled, and empty the grease drawer; you pay particular attention to grease deposits on the inside of the combustion chamber and on the grease drawer. You check the grill brush regularly for loose bristles and wear and replace it if bristles are loose. According to Enders, burning off is not pyrolysis but only burns off the surface. A thorough clean is due at least twice a year, for frequent grillers quarterly.
The stainless steel inner parts of the combustion chamber come out without tools and are dishwasher-safe. The grease drawer made of alloy steel also comes out without tools, and you clean it with mild washing-up liquid. The inside of the hood gets a sponge, warm water and washing-up liquid; stainless steel surfaces a non-abrasive, pollutant-free stainless steel cleaner or a grill polish with a microfibre cloth in the direction of the grain; enamel and powder-coated surfaces warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Not suitable are abrasive stainless steel polishes, acidic or flammable cleaners, oven cleaner and abrasive or chlorine-based cleaners. You never hose the grill down with a strong jet of water, such as from a garden hose or pressure washer, and grill components do not belong on the side shelves because they can scratch the surfaces.
Before thorough cleaning and before covering with the weather cover, the grill must be switched off, disconnected from the mains and completely cooled down. Individual parts can have sharp edges, so you wear safety gloves, and everything must dry completely before the next use. Stainless steel can discolour at high temperatures, especially on heating elements and grates; according to Enders this is typical of the material and not a defect. During grilling breaks, you store the grill dry and frost-free, and Enders additionally recommends the weather cover. The manual shows GS and CE marks and states that Geprüfte Sicherheit (the German “tested safety” mark) confirms the requirements of the ProdSG (the German Product Safety Act).
What Enders does not state
These details are missing from the product page, the manual and the Amazon catalogue, as far as we evaluated them for article 97156:
- Maximum temperature in °C and the temperature of the Turbo Zone
- Heating-up time to a target temperature (only the 20 minutes of preheating are recommended)
- Effect of the double-walled hood on insulation, heat retention and temperature stability
- Electricity consumption in kWh and fuse rating of the circuit in amperes
- Number of people or quantity of steaks and sausages the grate is enough for (the product page speaks of room for all party guests)
- Individual dimensions and weight of the two cast-iron grate halves as well as the grate size per zone
- Load capacity of the side shelves and storage shelf, wheel dimensions and number of castors with locking brake
- Reference point of the clearance figure above the grill (grate, hood or ground)
- Permitted duration of an unprotected location outdoors (weather-protected storage is required)
- Noise and smoke development during operation
- Assembly time, part numbers and current scope-of-delivery list, because the assembly booklet could not be found online
- Prices and availability of spare parts (the Enders site has a spare parts shop, which we did not evaluate for the eFLAVOUR)
- Country of manufacture (only the company headquarters in Werdohl is stated) and market launch (there are only the manual editions 01/2024 and 02/2026)
The two editions of the manual contradict each other in several places, and an older one may still be enclosed with a delivered unit. For weight, 01/2024 gives 31.4 kg, the current edition 31.5 kg. For depth, there are 62.5 cm (01/2024) against 57 cm on the product page, which the Amazon catalogue confirms. The warranty in 01/2024 was still a flat 2 years on function. Added to this are the clearance from flammable items (0.5 m against 1 m), the clearance above the grill (2 m against 1 m) and the extension cable (not suitable against up to 5 m under conditions). We follow the newer details.
What else is worth considering?
| Model | The difference | Price | Our rating | Choose this one if |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Enders eFLAVOUR 2 Turbo (this one) | Turbo Zone: up to 3 kW on the right side of the grate, 1,950 cm² | approx. €310 | 8.5 | you want to sear meat hard on one side and keep cooking it indirectly on the other |
| Enders eFLOW Pro 2 Turbo | Same output and surface, hood made of stainless steel and cast aluminium, 10 instead of 5 years against rust-through, 36.5 kg | approx. €385 | 8.9 | you want the hood and combustion chamber covered for longer |
| Enders eCRAVE 2 | No Turbo Zone, 2 x 1.3 kW, smaller grate, 24.5 kg | approx. €249 | 8.4 | you can do without hard searing at the push of a button and need less space |
| Landmann EG-II-590 | Temperature selection 100 to 300 °C, timer, two meat thermometers, no Turbo Zone | approx. €550 | 9.4 | you want to set temperature and timer on the unit and read the core temperature on the control panel, and plan for around €240 more |
The prices are guide values from the price boxes of our reviews, not collected on the same day, and the rating is our editorial assessment based on manufacturer data. For the eFLOW Pro 2 Turbo, the price box and manufacturer price do not fit together: according to the category page, Enders lists a recommended retail price of €469, €100 more than for the eFLAVOUR, whereas our two prices are only around €75 apart. For the eCRAVE 2 too, the price box (€249) is below the Enders recommended retail price of €269. More electric grill carts are shown in the comparison of the best electric grills 2026.
When this grill, when another?
According to its instructions, the Landmann EG-II-590 has a grilling surface of 59 x 40.5 cm, the Enders 50 x 39 cm. With the Landmann, you set each heating element in 50 °C steps, and the timer runs up to 990 minutes; its up to 3,200 W is just above the Enders’ 3,000 W (at 230 V about 0.9 A more, our calculation).
For the location, the socket decides first: earthed, with an RCD of up to 30 mA and ideally within reach of the 210 cm mains cable, because according to the manual an extension cable should remain the exception. Without such a socket at the place of use, the eFLAVOUR is in our assessment the wrong choice. Then the space: the Enders needs W 108 x D 57 cm (W 75.5 cm folded) and at least 1 m clearance from flammable items while it runs; with the Landmann, according to the instructions, it is 121.5 x 57.5 cm and a 60 cm radius free of flammable or heat-sensitive materials. For the balcony, the siting rules of the respective manufacturer apply; whether your landlord and house rules go along is something to clarify beforehand, and what matters here is summarised in our guide to grilling on a balcony. Whether gas, charcoal or electricity suits you is answered by the Grill Finder.
