Behind the ASIN B07HCBRMJY, according to the Amazon catalogue, is the Weber Premium cover with the number 7183. The Amazon title calls it a premium grill cover for Spirit & Spirit II 300 models and ends in (7183); the catalogue lists the same number as part number and as model. On weber.com/DE the item is simply called Premium-Abdeckhaube. Weber sells it itself and does not link to Amazon, so equating the two pages rests solely on the shared number.
In our grill accessories category, we list it as weather protection for gas grills of the Spirit series. We mark calculations and assessments as our own; we have not handled the cover and have not pulled it onto any grill. The basis is Weber’s pages (retrieved on 6 October 2026), two Weber manuals that do not cover the Spirit II, and the Amazon catalogue (retrieved on 5 October 2026).
Does the 7183 fit your Spirit?
That depends on burner count and year of manufacture, not on the model name. According to Weber, the 7183 fits Spirit gas grills with 4 burners from model year 2025 and Spirit/Spirit II with 3 burners from 2016 to 2024.
None of the three compatibility lines contains a model name; E-320, E-330 and side burners do not appear on the cover page. The third line concerns older grills: Spirit gas grills with 2 burners and side-mounted control knobs, made before 2016.
The German Weber pages we read do not state the burner count of the Spirit II; Weber’s US page lists the E-210 with two and the E-310 with three burners. With three burners, the Spirit II E-310 falls under the second line, provided it was built between 2016 and 2024.
If you have a Spirit with 2 or 3 burners from model year 2025, you need a different cover: Weber assigns these grills to the Premium cover 7182, and from 2025 the 7183 applies only to the models with 4 burners. This concerns the current Spirit E-310, which our review of the Weber Spirit II E-310 describes. If you follow the link, you therefore end up at a grill for which this cover is not intended.
Amazon’s list goes beyond Weber’s assignment: it calls the cover suitable for all models of the Spirit/Spirit II 300 series, the Spirit EO-210 and the 2025 Spirit models with 2 to 4 burners. Where the two sources differ, we follow the manufacturer.
Material, fastening and dimensions according to Weber
As material, Weber states 100% polyester. In addition there are UV stabilisers which, according to Weber, protect against fading; Amazon writes the same in its catalogue. Fading concerns colour, and according to the Amazon catalogue the cover is black.
Both describe durability with adjectives. Weber calls the cover a durable lightweight that is easy to pull over the grill and take off again; Amazon writes long-lasting and very hard-wearing.
The cover is held by Velcro straps. Weber writes that they keep the cover in place so that it cannot be blown into the neighbour’s garden; Amazon speaks of a sturdy Velcro closure with a secure hold even in wind. In the Amazon photo, the cover sits on a grill of unknown model: the Weber logo is visible at the front, with one strap on each side. The catalogue lists the unit count as 1.
Weber lists the size as 107 cm H x 132 cm W x 68.5 cm D; the page does not say whether this refers to the cover or to the covered grill. Packed, the item measures 28.5 x 18.5 x 10 cm. The Amazon catalogue gives 129.5 x 106.7 x 68.6 cm, about 2.5 cm less than Weber on the long side. For the cover 7178 (price and range of use further below), the size field reads 105 x 59.5 x 153 cm (H x W x D). Our assessment: as long as it is unclear what these figures measure, they are no use for checking the fit on your own grill.
In detail: breathable, water-repellent, waterproof
Breathable and water-repellent, to protect the grill from the elements: that is how Weber describes the cover. Weber nowhere uses the word waterproof for it, and the terms are not interchangeable.
In general for textiles: water-repellent means that water beads off the surface as long as the finish holds. Waterproof is the stricter property and is usually stated as a water column in millimetres. Breathable means that water vapour can pass outwards through the fabric while liquid water is meant to stay out. The material alone does not decide this: polyester is a synthetic fibre that itself absorbs hardly any water, but whether a fabric is watertight depends on the weave and coating.
Our reasoning on breathability: when a grill cools down after grilling, the moist air under a sealed cover can condense on the cold metal surfaces and stay there. A fabric that lets water vapour through can reduce this effect.
Our guide Winterising your grill recommends a breathable cover with vents and advises not covering a grill that is still damp or warm at all: only when it is completely dry and cold.
Care and safety: cleaning, pulling it on
The product page gives only one care instruction: spot clean only. The Weber support page (English-language page) is more specific: covers should only be spot cleaned, with hot water, a washing-up liquid with a mild degreaser and a paper towel or cloth recommended.
The following safety information comes from the manual for the Spirit series from 2025 (document 8654337_011325 DE), which according to its title page applies to models other than the Spirit II. On the first page, under the warning level DANGER: the grill cover and other combustible materials must not be placed on the grill or in the storage space underneath while the grill is in operation or still hot. During use, combustible materials must be kept at least 61 cm from the back or side panels of the grill, and there must be no flammable gases and liquids or other combustible materials in the grilling area. Because Weber lists the grill cover alongside other combustible materials in the first warning, we would not put the removed cover next to the grill while grilling: synthetic fibres such as polyester melt in heat and can burn.
Rust and winter: what a cover is meant to do
On its care page, Weber writes that covers are beneficial when the grill is not in use: they protect against dust, moisture and scratches, and with a cover a stainless steel grill can stay outdoors all year round.
For winter, Weber is more cautious. If the grill stays outside, Weber advises a sturdy, water-repellent protective cover that is large enough for the whole grill and fastened so that storms cannot blow it away. According to Weber, it is best overwintered in a garage, cellar or garden shed.
For gas grills, rules on the cylinder are added. The Spirit manual from 2025 lists four points in the section Storage and/or non-use (page 2). After use, the shut-off valve of the gas cylinder must be closed. Liquid propane cylinders must be stored outdoors and out of the reach of children, and must not be stored in buildings, garages or other enclosed spaces. After longer storage or non-use, the grill must be checked for gas leaks and burner blockage before use. The grill may be stored indoors only if the gas cartridge has been disconnected from the grill and removed.
On rust, the same manual says (page 10): if the grill is exposed to a particularly harsh environment, the exterior must be cleaned more often. Acid rain, swimming pool chemicals and salt water can cause rust. The exterior is wiped with warm soapy water, then rinsed and dried thoroughly. In addition, you can apply a stainless steel cleaner once a week to prevent surface rust. What to do about existing rust is covered in the guide Rusty grill: what to do.
Price: Weber, Amazon and the sister covers
In the Weber shop, the 7183 costs €119.99 including VAT (retrieved on 6 October 2026). According to Weber, shipping is free from an order value of €49, and below that it costs €4.90; the cover alone is above this threshold. According to Weber, returns are also free of charge. On Amazon on 12 October 2026, only marketplace sellers offered the cover, from approx. €87, around €33 below the Weber price (our own calculation).
Besides the 7183, Weber lists two more items in the category of Spirit covers. The Premium cover 7182 costs €99.99, so €20 less. The cover 7178 costs €79.99; according to Weber, it is intended for most gas grills up to 132 cm wide. Outside the Spirit category is the 7179 for widths up to 152 cm, which costs €89.99. In material, the four covers do not differ on Weber’s pages: each is made of 100% polyester.
What Weber does not state
On these points we found nothing on Weber’s cover page or in the Amazon catalogue:
- Warranty period for the cover
- UV protection factor and durability in years or seasons
- Water column and fabric thickness in denier
- A coating or membrane
- Carry handles and a drawcord at the hem
- Vents
- Zip or a cut-out for the lid thermometer
- Reinforced seams or additional layers of material
- Behaviour in continuous rain and condensation under the cover, including compared with other covers
- Cooling time in minutes before the cover may go on the grill
- Length of the Velcro straps and the wind strength up to which they hold
- Weight of the cover (the Amazon catalogue lists 1.83 pounds, approx. 0.83 kg, without saying whether this is the cover or the packaging)
- Scope of delivery beyond the cover, such as tie-down straps or a bag
- Country of origin and certificates such as a pollutant test
- A separate manual for the cover
What else is there?
In our category there is no second cover for the Spirit. The rows below are not competitors of the cover but other accessory purchases for the same grill; the Genesis row applies only to owners of a Genesis II.
| Model | The difference | Price | Our rating | Choose this if |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weber Premium cover 7183 (this one) | 100% polyester, assigned by burner count and year of manufacture | approx. €87 | 8.7 | your Spirit has 3 burners and dates from 2016 to 2024, or has 4 burners and was built from 2025 |
| Weber Genesis II 4-burner cover | Cover for the Genesis II with 4 burners; the Amazon title cites grill widths up to 65 inches (around 165 cm) | approx. €141 | 8.6 | you own a Genesis II with four burners, not a Spirit |
| Weber GBS grate Spirit 300 | An upgrade rather than protection: a grate for the Spirit 300, with no weather protection | approx. €118 | 8.7 | you want to upgrade the grate of your Spirit 300 |
| Weber stainless steel cleaner 300 ml | Care rather than protection: a cleaner for stainless steel, with no weather protection | approx. €20 | 8.4 | your grill stands under a roof or in the garage and you want to maintain its appearance |
The prices of the three siblings are guide values from the data sheets of their reviews and were not compared on the same day; the row for the 7183 shows the marketplace price on Amazon. The rating is our editorial assessment based on the available data, not a measurement result, and says nothing about whether a cover fits your grill.
Who is the 7183 right for, and when not?
If your grill does not fall under Weber’s assignment for the 7183, the cover 7178 with its width figure of up to 132 cm remains as something to ask about. Whether it fits your grill is something Weber-Stephen Deutschland GmbH in Ingelheim can clarify.
If your budget covers only one of the accessories in the table, the location decides. If the grill stands outdoors all year, we would buy the cover first, because according to Weber’s care page, year-round outdoor placement depends on it. If it stands under a roof or in the garage, then according to Weber’s description dust and scratches remain the cover’s job; rain hits the grill less directly there.
Where salt water or continuous rain reaches the grill, a covered spot would be safer in our view, because Weber describes the cover only as water-repellent.
