Weber lists this cover as item 7131. There is no German product page for it: Weber’s German address for the 7131 ends in a 404 error. We found Amazon as a source, and the manufacturer information comes from Weber’s English-language country pages.
We did not have the cover in our hands and did not pull it over any grill. The basis is Weber’s country pages (including Singapore, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia), Weber’s German pages on range, warranty and care, the user manual of the Genesis II E-330 GBS, the Amazon catalogue and the product photo. Prices and ratings in the comparison rows come from our own catalogue. Where we calculate or infer something, we say so; English Weber wording is given as a short quotation or translated.
Weber 7131: name, series and exclusion
Weber calls the cover “Premium Grill Cover” with part number 7131. The country pages for New Zealand and Australia list it as “Genesis II/LX 4-Burner Gas BBQ Cover”. In the Amazon catalogue, 7131 appears as the model and item number, and the title refers to Genesis II 400 Series. Our page says “4-burner”, whereas Weber ties the cover to a series: suitable for “Genesis II and Genesis II LX 400 series gas grills”.
There is also an exclusion. The New Zealand page says “Does not fit 2022 Genesis 400 series”, meaning not for the Genesis that Weber has listed as its own range since 2022. Weber’s guide article on choosing a cover assigns the 7130 to the 300 series and the 7131 to the 400 series, in each case for Genesis II, Genesis II LX and Genesis gas grills of the same series without the II; which model years are meant is not stated there.
Source and price: the 7131 is missing at Weber Germany
When retrieved on 14.10.2026, the German Weber page for the 7131 returned a 404 error; according to Weber, the page no longer exists or is temporarily unavailable. The page title still reads “Premium-Abdeckhaube Genesis II LX 400”. In the Genesis covers category, Weber Germany lists four other numbers: the 7194 for the Genesis 300 series, the 7195 for the Genesis 400 series, the 7136 for Genesis II and Genesis II LX 600 and the 7179, a universal cover for most gas grills up to 152 cm wide. A cover for the Genesis II 400 is not among them.
That leaves Amazon. The Amazon.de page names Amazon UK as shipper and seller (retrieved 14.10.2026), and the catalogue stores a UPC code (077924049613), as is usual in North America. The cover costs approx. €143 there (as of 05.10.2026).
For context, the Weber prices for the German covers, each including VAT and plus shipping: €139.99 for the 7194, €149.99 for the 7195, €152.99 for the 7136 (previously €179.99) and €89.99 for the 7179. According to Weber’s fit list, the 7195 belongs to the range from 2022 and could not be ordered on 14.10.2026: instead of the buy button it showed “Informiere mich” (notify me). On Amazon, the 7131 is around €7 below the 7195 and around €10 below the 7136; both are covers for other grills. Our guide to grill accessories essentials budgets €20 to €50 for a cover; even the universal cover is above that.
Does it also fit a Genesis II with a side burner?
That cannot be promised. Weber names the cover for the Genesis II and Genesis II LX 400 series and lists no models. That it also covers side tables or a side burner is not stated on any of the Weber pages we read.
Two models of the same family show why this matters. According to Weber, the Genesis II E-410 GBS has four stainless steel burners and two side tables; no side burner appears among the features on the Weber page. The Genesis II S-455 GBS also has four stainless steel burners, plus a side burner of 3.52 kW.
The length can at least be checked by calculation. The Amazon title names “grill widths up to 65 inches”, which is 165.1 cm. The E-410 GBS is 155 cm wide with the lid closed, the S-455 GBS 166 cm. That leaves 10 cm to spare for the E-410, while the S-455 is 0.9 cm over the 65 inches. That is our calculation from two manufacturer figures, not a fit guarantee from Weber.
Amazon is more generous than Weber: “Fits every Genesis II 4-burner grill”. The product photo shows the cover on a grill: a high centre, lower stepped side sections left and right, a Weber logo at the front, wheels beneath the hem. What sits at the sides underneath cannot be seen in the photo.
Dimensions: 165 cm, but on which axis?
For the 7131, Weber gives under “Out of Carton” 113 cm height, 63.5 cm width and 165 cm depth (44.5 x 25 x 65 inches). Amazon writes the same numbers as 165.1 cm length, 63.5 cm width and 113 cm height. In the catalogue data record, Amazon assigns them differently again in one field: height 25, width 44.5, length 65 inches.
From Weber’s numbers alone, it is therefore impossible to tell whether they describe the cover or the grill. According to Weber, the E-410 GBS is 73.7 cm deep, while the width figure of the 7131 is 63.5 cm. For the neighbouring covers, it is mainly the long side that changes. For the 7130 (Genesis II and II LX 300), Weber gives 113 x 73.5 x 150 cm, for the 7136 (Genesis II and II LX 600) 113 x 63.5 x 185 cm. The height stays at 113 cm, and the middle number is largest for the smallest of the three covers. The 7131 is 15 cm longer than the 7130, and the 7136 is another 20 cm longer than the 7131.
Fabric, weather protection and fastening
Weber names polyester as the material. The Amazon catalogue adds “Oxford fabric” and the colour black. Against fading, Weber relies on UV inhibitors in the fabric, additives meant to slow the breakdown of the plastic by sunlight.
When it comes to wet weather, things get confusing. Weber describes the cover as breathable and water-repellent (“water resistant”), not as waterproof. Amazon writes “waterproof” in the title, “water-repellent” in the product description and “water and UV resistant” in a bullet point. We go with Weber and say water-repellent.
Why breathability matters is explained in our guide Winterising your grill: over a grill that is still damp or warm, a dense tarp traps condensation and speeds up the rust it is supposed to prevent. The guide therefore recommends breathable covers, ideally with vents.
According to Weber, the cover is held in place by fastening straps (“fastening straps”); according to Amazon, by hook-and-loop fasteners that are supposed to keep it “in place in wind”. According to Weber, putting it on and taking it off should be easy.
Covering, cleaning, storing: Weber’s wording
We found no instructions of its own for the cover. The safety sentences below come from the manual of the E-330 GBS, same series, three burners. The manual of the E-410 GBS was above our retrieval limit of 10 MB; whether it contains the same sentences, we do not know. Under “Protect your investment”, the E-330 manual recommends a premium grill cover against the elements; for the E-330, that would be the 7130 according to Weber’s series assignment.
On page 2, under DANGER, it says that the grill cover or other flammable materials must not be placed on the grill or in the storage space under the grill “while it is in operation or still hot”. The order follows from that: grill off, let it cool, only then pull on the cover. After grilling, the shut-off valve of the gas cylinder must also be closed (WARNING, page 2).
According to the manual, during operation a radius of 61 cm around the grill applies in which nothing flammable may lie. We would put a removed cover down outside this radius, because no heat limit is stated for the polyester.
For cleaning, Weber writes “Spot clean only” on the product page of the 7131, in German: nur punktuell reinigen. Amazon lists “Nur Fleckenreinigung” (stain cleaning only) as a warning.
What else is an option?
From our Grill accessories category, three rows sit next to the cover. Only one of them is also a cover, and it belongs to a different grill.
| Model | The difference | Price | Our rating | Choose this if |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weber Genesis II 4-burner cover (this cover) | Weber no. 7131 for Genesis II and II LX of the 400 series, polyester | approx. €143 (Amazon) | 8.6 | you have a Genesis II or II LX of the 400 series |
| Weber Spirit II E-310/E-320 cover | Weber no. 7183, according to Weber’s assignment for Spirit grills, not for Genesis II 400 | approx. €87 | 8.7 | your Spirit belongs to the 7183 according to Weber’s assignment (3 burners up to model year 2024 or 4 burners from 2025) |
| Weber GBS grill grate Spirit 300 | Grate instead of protection: base for GBS inserts, fit depends on burner count and model year | approx. €118 | 8.7 | you want to extend the cooking function of your Weber gas grill and your model is on Weber’s fit list for the grate |
| Petromax Fire Pot ft6 with feet | Cast-iron pot (5.5 litres, 9 kg), independent of grill type | approx. €75 | 9.0 | you want to braise and bake in embers or at a campfire |
The table is of little use as a purchase comparison: the Spirit cover fits other grills, and the grate and fire pot only show what else the money buys in the catalogue. The prices are guide values (for the cover as of 05.10.2026); the rating is our editorial assessment and not a measurement.
The Spirit cover is around €55 below the 7131 and only saves money if your grill is one of the Spirit models that Weber assigns to the 7183.
What Weber does not state about the 7131
This information is missing on the Weber pages we read and in the Amazon catalogue:
- the model list behind “Genesis II 400 series” and a dimension table for comparison (Weber only offers the guide article by series)
- water column, fabric weight, denier, tear strength and seam sealing
- vents
- duration of UV resistance and lifespan with year-round use
- temperature limit of the fabric and wind load rating
- reinforced seams at corners and handle area, drawstring at the hem
- hand wash or machine wash
- warranty duration for the cover
- weight (only the Amazon catalogue lists one)
- scope of delivery beyond “grill cover”, one piece (spare straps, storage bag)
- spare parts for straps and hook-and-loop fasteners
- country of origin, place of manufacture and certificates such as Oeko-Tex
- market launch (Amazon’s catalogue date of 15.12.2022 is not a Weber statement)
Who is it for?
The cover is for owners of a Genesis II or Genesis II LX of the 400 series, as Weber assigns them. Read off the model designation before you order and compare it with Weber’s series information. For owners of a Genesis from 2022, it is the wrong choice; for that range, Weber Germany lists the 7195.
If you have an S-455 GBS or another model with a side burner and want to get it under the cover as well, ask Weber first: according to the calculation above, the S-455 is just wider than Amazon’s upper limit, while for the E-410, whose Weber page lists no side burner, 10 cm to spare remain in length.
The location decides the weather protection. If the grill stands outdoors without a roof, “water-repellent” counts, and it is precisely for that that a figure is missing. Under a canopy, breathability moves to the front: our winterising guide names high humidity as a drawback for a covered terrace, and for a freestanding grill condensation under the cover and wind that lifts it. In a windy spot, the only evidence for the hold is Weber’s statement that the straps keep the cover on the grill.
If you want to save money: Weber Germany lists no cover of its own for the Genesis II 400, and the universal cover 7179 is too narrow for the E-410 according to Weber’s dimensions (calculation in the FAQ).
