Our assessment: for approx. €78, the G3 Ferrari G10006 suits you if you want to bake round pizzas up to 31 cm in the kitchen and stand next to the oven while baking, because the 5-minute timer does not switch it off. If you are after many pizzas in a row, rectangular trays or an oven for outdoors, you are better off with the Pronto Pizza G10186 or a gas pizza oven.

A clamshell oven for the worktop

The manufacturer calls this oven the Forno Pizza Delizia, in red with the code G10006 02. On Amazon it is listed as model G1000602, which is the same red version. The G3 Ferrari brand belongs to Trevidea S.r.l. from Rimini, and according to the instructions it is manufactured in China.

G3 Ferrari calls the Delizia one of the first clamshell ovens built specifically for pizza. What is meant is the design you see in the product photo: a round base with the stone, and above it a domed lid that opens upwards like a shell. A black handle sits at the front of the lid, and two dials are at the back. It has little in common with an oven that you slide something into from the front.

In our catalogue, the G10006 sits among the pizza ovens as the cheapest electric appliance with its own stone. Our price box lists it at approx. €78 (Amazon page on 20 October 2026: €77.99). The list price on the Italian manufacturer’s website is €114.90.

Stone, heating elements, dial and timer

Baking is done on a round slab of refractory stone, 31 cm in diameter. Heating comes from two sides: G3 Ferrari fits a double heating element of sheathed steel, one part in the lid and the other beneath the stone. Together they draw 1200 W, connected to 230 V alternating current. The product page states 50 Hz, the data sheet and instructions 50 to 60 Hz.

The temperature is controlled by a thermostat that reaches up to 400 °C according to the manufacturer. The dial carries a scale with numbers, not degrees. Next to it sits a mechanical timer that gives an audible signal after 5 minutes, and an indicator light shows when the oven is heating.

The timer is the point where we read the instructions twice. It neither switches the oven on nor off, and the heating elements keep running after the bell. The instructions draw the conclusion that should be taken seriously: the pizza oven must not be left unattended.

Outside, the oven measures 33.5 × 20 × 35 cm (length × height × depth) and weighs 5.4 kg. These are external dimensions and say nothing about the size of the cooking chamber. According to the manufacturer, the appliance meets the safety standard EN 60335-2-9 and carries the CE mark. The product page lists aluminium pizza peels of 28 cm diameter and a recipe booklet as part of the delivery.

In detail: why a flat lid brings so much heat

A household oven heats a large box, and the pizza base sits on a tray that stores hardly any heat. The Delizia reverses both. The space under the lid is flat, the heating element at the top hangs close above the toppings, and below, a stone passes heat directly to the dough.

Stone stores heat. If you put a cold dough ball on it, the base draws energy from the slab, and faster than the heating element beneath can replace it. That is why the instructions provide for a pause between two pizzas: the lid should then stand open for about 2 minutes.

That the lid should be opened so the oven heats again sounds wrong at first. The logic behind it lies in the thermostat. Once the oven has reached its set temperature, the thermostat switches off, the indicator light goes out, and the oven only holds the heat. The instructions, however, require the light to be on during baking. If it is off after preheating, you open the lid for about 2 minutes, the air under the lid cools, the thermostat switches back on, and the elements work for as long as the pizza is inside. This is our reading of the two instructions; G3 Ferrari itself does not explain the connection.

It also follows that the 400 °C do not describe the temperature of your pizza. They are the upper limit of the controller. What temperature the stone actually reaches at the recommended dial position has not been measured on this appliance by anyone we could cite.

How long does a pizza take in the G10006?

Allow about 10 minutes for preheating with the lid closed and then approx. 4 to 5 minutes per pizza, as the instructions state. For the dial, the German version recommends position 2 1/2, the Italian and English versions between 2 1/2 and 3.

For an evening with four pizzas, we added it up: 10 minutes of preheating, four times 4 to 5 minutes of baking and three times 2 minutes of pause with the lid open come to 32 to 36 minutes until the last pizza is out. Rolling out and topping the dough come on top, but can run in parallel while the previous pizza is in the oven.

Frozen pizza works too. The instructions require you to let it thaw at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before baking. A rock-hard frozen base would draw a great deal of heat out of the stone all at once.

When topping, the instructions give a rule that is quickly broken in an oven this tight: oil, tomato and cheese should not get onto the hot stone. We would therefore leave a good centimetre of rim free and not stretch the pizza larger than the peel. Whether the peel or the stone sets the limit is quickly answered at 28 against 31 cm.

These three alternatives are worth a look

Model The difference Price Our rating Choose this one if
G3 Ferrari G10006 Delizia (this one) Clamshell oven, stone Ø 31 cm, 5-minute timer without switch-off approx. €78 7.7 you bake two to four pizzas an evening and stand next to the oven
Ariete Pizza Oven 917 1200 W and up to 400 °C as here, 32 cm stone including metal frame, 5 cooking levels approx. €83 7.6 you would rather have black than red and prefer stainless steel spatulas
G3 Ferrari Pronto Pizza 2 Minuti G10186 1700 W, up to 430 °C, stone 32 × 32 cm, 8 programmes approx. €265 8.5 you also want to bake rectangular trays and work by programme
Effeuno P134H up to 509 °C according to Effeuno, a different class of appliance approx. €599 9.2 you want to bake Neapolitan pizza electrically and have the budget

The prices come from our price boxes and fluctuate. The rating is our editorial assessment based on the data comparison; no measurements were taken on any of the four ovens.

When the G10006, when another

Start with the pizza size. The stone measures 31 cm, the supplied peel 28 cm, and no more than one pizza fits in. If you want tray pizza or rectangular pinsa, a round shell is the wrong shape. The Pronto Pizza G10186 has a square 32 × 32 cm stone and a programme for tray pizza, but stands at approx. €265 in our price box (on 21 October 2026 only from marketplace sellers on Amazon, Amazon itself did not offer it), against approx. €78 for the G10006.

Then throughput. With a good half hour for four pizzas, the G10006 is an appliance for two to four people. We would not buy it for a gathering of eight, because in the end the first guests eat cold leftovers while the last pizza is still baking.

Next, the question of a counterpart at the same price. The Ariete 917 costs approx. €83, the G10006 approx. €78, and the Ariete is technically on the same line: 1200 W, up to 400 °C, a 32 cm stone including a metal frame. Ariete states 5 cooking levels, includes two stainless steel spatulas and gives a weight of 3.94 kg. In our rating the two are practically level at 7.7 and 7.6. Here colour and accessories decide, not the technology.

And finally, ambition. If you want a Neapolitan pizza with a tall, spotted rim, you will eventually end up with ovens that go well above 400 °C. In our catalogue the electric oven that goes furthest is the Effeuno P134H, which stands at approx. €599 in our price box, against approx. €78 for the G10006. Alternatively, the route leads outdoors to gas, wood or the grill; how that works on the grate is covered in the guide Pizza on the grill.

Setting up, cleaning and what the instructions require

The instructions give precise requirements for setting up. You should keep a distance of at least approx. 10 cm around the appliance so that air can circulate. Position the oven so that you can open it easily from both the left and the right, and do not place any objects on the oven. If it touches flammable materials such as cloths, fabrics or walls, it can cause a fire according to the instructions. You should not use it in a shower room or near a bathtub or washbasin, nor near explosives, highly flammable materials, gases or flames.

There is no approval for outdoor use. The instructions state: do not expose the appliance to unfavourable weather conditions such as rain, moisture or frost, and store it in a dry place. The instructions mention the balcony neither as permitted nor as forbidden. We would bring the oven back inside after baking in any case.

When opening during operation, the manufacturer warns of steam that may have built up during baking. You should always wear gloves when putting something into the hot oven or taking it out. Before switching on, you check that the sliders are not lying on the baking surface. Neither cardboard nor plastic nor paper belongs in the oven.

The cleaning rules are strict, and here it pays to stay literal. Cleaning is done only once the plug is pulled and the appliance has cooled down completely; beforehand you check that it is switched off. You clean the outer parts with water and a sponge. The baking surface, by contrast, must never be washed: according to the instructions, it is enough to wipe it with a damp kitchen cloth or to carefully remove residues with a spatula or knife. Washing-up liquid is forbidden for the baking surface, and no cold water may go onto the still hot stone. You must never immerse the appliance itself in water. You should never touch the baking surface while the appliance is running or while it has not yet cooled down completely after switching off.

Cold water on a hot stone can cause cracks, because the surface contracts abruptly while the core is still hot. What can still be saved afterwards is collected in our guide Cracked pizza stone. That the stone darkens over time is described by G3 Ferrari as a completely normal feature of natural stone.

What the manufacturer does not state

A few gaps are worth knowing before you buy. There is no table assigning temperatures to the dial positions, and not a word on whether the controller works steplessly. Internal dimensions of the cooking chamber and the height under the lid are missing, as is a maximum pizza size; only the stone and the peel are documented. The documents are silent on the material of the housing, lid and handles, as well as on cable length, power consumption per pizza and the year of market launch. We did not find the warranty period or warranty terms. The manufacturer’s website lists a replacement heating element only for another model, the G10032.

There is a contradiction regarding the accessories. The product page names aluminium peels, while the German instructions speak in one place of enclosed peel halves and in another of wooden sliders. Which version applies to the appliances sold in Germany, we could not clarify.

Who is it suitable for?

For two to four people in a flat who bake pizza more than once a month and stay in the kitchen while doing so. If you want to switch the oven on and lay the table in the meantime, this is the wrong choice, because the timer only rings.

A second exclusion is in the instructions themselves: the appliance cannot be used by children, even if they are older than 8 years, and the appliance with its mains cable must be kept out of reach of children under 8 years. If you want to top and bake with your kids on pizza night, you take over the baking yourself.

And for the snack bar or the stall at a club fête, the G10006 is out of the question. G3 Ferrari writes that it is not intended for commercial use, only for household use.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about G3 Ferrari G10006 Elektro-Pizzaofen

Short, clear answers about buying, using and caring for G3 Ferrari G10006 Elektro-Pizzaofen.

How do I switch off the G10006 properly if the timer does not do it?

You turn the temperature knob to 0 and pull the plug, as the instructions say. Only at the zero position is the oven in the off state for which G3 Ferrari states a consumption of 0 W. The instructions also require you to pull the plug whenever you are not using or are cleaning the oven. A switched power strip does not replace turning the knob, because operation via a timer switch or a remote control system is expressly prohibited.

Is there a replacement stone for the G10006?

Yes, in its data sheet G3 Ferrari lists a separately available stone made of natural cordierite, 31 cm in diameter and weighing 1.4 kg, rated up to 700 °C. Whether the stone fitted at the factory is also made of cordierite is not stated in the documents, which only call it a refractory stone. Because the instructions only allow original and compatible parts, we would look for exactly this part when buying a replacement and would not have a universal stone cut to size.

Does the oven smoke or smell when baking?

In its instructions, G3 Ferrari promises there is no smoke or odour nuisance; we could not verify this. The same instructions do name one source of smoke, though: oil, flour and dough residues are considered flammable and must not fall onto the baking stone. If you see flames, you should switch the oven off immediately, pull the plug and let it cool down. We would therefore use dusting flour on the peel sparingly.

What colours does the G10006 come in, and is the technology the same?

The manufacturer's website lists six colours: Red (colour code 02), Black (10), Blue (04), Yellow (05), Silver (06) and Copper (08), all with the same technical data. The older data sheet even lists ten colours, including Green, Antique Gold, Orange and Fucsia. The list price is €114.90 for Red and Black and €119.90 for the other four. On Amazon, this ASIN is listed as model G1000602, so the red version.

Which Delizia suits me if 31 cm pizzas are too small?

In the same range, G3 Ferrari offers the Delizia Impero, according to the manufacturer's website for pizzas up to Ø 37 cm or up to 38 × 28 cm on the peel, with a list price of €139.90. The Delizia Aeterna stays at Ø 31 cm but, according to the manufacturer, takes pinsa up to 36 × 22 cm, has 1400 W and an 8-minute timer, list price €124.90. We have not yet rated either of them in our catalogue.

Can I also cook fish, vegetables or chicken in the G10006?

Yes, but according to the instructions only in suitable aluminium baking trays, never directly on the stone. The reason is the same as for cheese and tomato: fat and juices that run onto the hot stone burn in there, and the stone must not be washed. How tall a baking tray may be for the lid to still close cannot be said, as no lid height is given. Shallow disposable trays are the safe choice.

Can I plug the oven into an extension lead or a multiple socket?

The instructions allow adapters, multiple sockets and extension leads if they meet the applicable safety standards. Beforehand, you should check that the details on the rating plate match your mains supply, unwind the power cable fully before every use and not let it hang down. As a general rule, 1200 W of continuous load does not belong on a strip that already has a kettle or toaster on it.

Who do I contact if it is faulty?

An authorised service centre of the manufacturer, using original spare parts, as the instructions prescribe. According to the instructions, you can reach the technical customer service of Trevidea by email at assistenzatecnica@trevidea.it. By the instructions' own wording, anyone who ignores their rules risks the warranty becoming void. When it is finished with, the oven does not belong in household waste but at a collection point for electrical appliances.
